Meet Tally Saltwater

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: approx. 8 years old (as of 3/25/25) Weight: approx. 24 pounds (as of 3/25/25) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Tally! This regal beagle mix is very laid back, sweet and social. She is one half of a non-bonded pair with Taffy Saltwater. (We think they might be Mom and daughter!) While adopting both is not required, they were found together, get along well and would thrive in the same household. Tally and Taffy’s backstory: These two were found on an elderly gentleman’s front porch. He fed them and they stuck around because they were so hungry. He did his best to care for them by keeping them sheltered and fed in his chicken coop until animal rescuers could arrive to help. Although sweet seniors like Tally are often overlooked, they actually turn out to be the most obedient, mild-mannered and loving companions. You've "been there, done that" with puppy training, so it's time to skip to the best part: endless cuddles with the sweet soul you just rescued! This lovable little lady is looking for the forever home she deserves. She dreams of living out her senior years as a full-time lap dog and couch potato, with a soft place to lay her head. Will you welcome her into your heart and home? We’re still getting to know sweet Tally, so we’re not sure how well she does with new adults or children just yet. Be sure to check back here for more information! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
