Meet Periwinkle

Meet Periwinkle! A stunning five-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky mix from Elk River, MN, whose icy blue eyes are only matched by her warm and loving heart. Peri is the ultimate adventure buddy—whether it’s chasing squirrels, hiking through the woods, or rolling around in the snow, she’s always up for some fun! But don’t let her energetic side fool you—when the day winds down, she’s all about snuggles, curling up next to her favorite humans (or canine friends) for some well-earned relaxation. Peri is incredibly smart and eager to please, knowing commands like sit, come, shake, and off. She’ll happily show off her best paw-shaking skills if there’s a treat involved! Speaking of treats, she generally shares well, though she does have some resource guarding tendencies with extra-special goodies like Yak milk bones. If given space during those moments, she does just fine, and a simple command to go outside usually helps her reset. Peri has a great track record with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship, whether at the dog park or just lounging in the backyard. However, since a newborn joined the household, she has become protective, particularly of her caregiver and the baby. When the baby cries or drops a pacifier, Peri has growled and even snapped at the other resident dog when he gets too close. Outside of these moments, she continues to play and interact with her dog friend as usual. This shift in behavior suggests that Peri may feel overwhelmed in a home with an infant, and she would likely thrive in a calmer environment without babies or toddlers demanding attention. Outside of the home, Peri does wonderfully with children. She has been around children ages 5-11 and absolutely adores their attention, happily giving kisses and leaning in for snuggles! When out on walks, she’s friendly and gentle with kids who stop to pet her, showing her affectionate and social side. True to her breed, Peri has a little bit of that classic Husky stubbornness, but her affectionate nature and devotion to her people shine through in everything she does. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find a new family who will adore her for the loyal and loving companion she is. A fenced yard would be ideal for her zoomies, and she’ll thrive with a caregiver who understands her sensitive heart and provides her with the love and structure she needs. Are you looking for a beautiful, affectionate, and adventure-ready companion? Peri might just be your perfect match!
