Meet Polar

Meet Polar!! Polar was found tied up in a local park. He is a local pull from animal control here in Connecticut. Polar was tied up in the cold and was found by a person passing by when they called the ACO. They contacted us immediately and we took him into our rescue to make sure that he was going to be safe and sound. Polar is definitely your typical husky mix. We will be looking for a family that has husky experience, as huskies are not for first-time dog owners. Polar is a typical pup right now who loves playing with his foster brother. They wrestle and romp outside together. He absolutely loves the snow and the cold. Polar enjoys chewing on lots of bones and chew toys. On walks, Polar will greet everyone with a wagging tail. He loves everybody that he meets! We recommend him going with older kids, just due to his size that we believe he will be. Would not describe him as physically affectionate but often times he will follow you if you leave the room. Polar will need obedience training to learn his commands and manners. Potty training is in the works as well is crate training. He currently is not a fan of the crate. We believe this is from his past. He will sleep all night through in bed with you. Polar will need someone to keep him socialized, trained and who will not leave him more than 4 hours currently as he is still a puppy. If you have fallen in love with this handsome hunk, apply for Polar today!!! He cannot wait to have a forever family love him and create lots of memories with him!!! If interested in Polar, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at [email protected]. Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption: Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP Bordatella (Kennel Cough) Heartworm Test Fecal Test, Deworming Microchip Flea and Tick Prevention Heartworm Prevention. VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward. HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
