Our mission is to "Rescue One By One Until There Are None." Through this mission we will rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome orphaned pets. We aim to provide a loving, nurturing environment for all the animals in our care. We are committed to helping each individual pet find his or her perfect companion.We are dedicated to being a no-kill rescue. We are committed to saving as many lives as we can and providing the best possible environment for the pets in our care. We are a team of experienced and compassionate people that are willing to go above and beyond to ensure our success. Our focus will be on rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs and cats. We will rescue from our community, the Southern United States as well as the Cayman Islands. We will offer a variety of programs and services to the community to make pet ownership easier and more affordable for the public. Our education programs are incredibly important to the community and will help pave the way for the future of animal rescue. The wide variety of services and programs we will offer the community will set us apart and allow us to truly make a difference. We will be one of the few no-kill rescues in the area, we will only euthanize for terminal illness or loss of quality of life. We plan to intake and adopt out about 1,000 dogs and cats per year. We will collaborate with other shelters and rescues in the area to work together towards a similar goal.

Smart as a whisk, Brioche can sniff out treats faster than you can say “sourdough.” He’s a quick learner, picking up commands quicker than you can knead dough!This playful pooch is always ready to roll! Whether he’s chasing his tail or pouncing on unsuspecting toys, Brioche brings a sprinkle of fun to every day. He’s not just friendly; he’s the life of the party—always wagging his tail like a stand mixer at full speed!And when it comes to snuggling, this little bun takes the cake (or should we say bread?). If you’re looking for someone to snuggle up with while watching your favorite baking show, look no further! Just be prepared for some serious belly rub requests—because this snuggle bug knows how to butter you up!So if you're ever feeling crumby, remember that little Brioche is here to rise and shine alongside you. With this pup by your side, life will surely be baked to perfection! Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
