Burlington County Animal Alliance

Burlington County Animal Alliance is a private, independent, 501(3)(c) nonprofit animal advocacy group, that was founded in 1999 by Lorraine Schrieber and Barb Giano who have a love for animals. To date, we have around 60 members of BCAA. We focus primarily on rescue and adoption of shelter dogs and cats in high kill shelters and surrounding areas in New Jersey. Our main focus is to make the public aware of the numbers of homeless dogs and cats there are in shelters and to promote adoption of these animals. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.

Meet Atticus

Meet Atticus! This 3.5-month-old, 17-pound sweetheart is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. With his light brown/gold coat, black muzzle, and big paws, it’s clear he’s going to grow into a big, handsome boy!Atticus is super friendly and curious, always eager to meet new people and explore his surroundings. He loves belly rubs, chewing on bones or toys, and playing with his human and dog foster brothers. While he can be a little timid when meeting new dogs, he quickly warms up and is ready to play. He hasn’t been around cats yet, but he’s shown no signs of prey drive. This smart boy is almost fully house-trained—he does great in his crate, sleeps through the night (about 9 hours), and knows to potty outside. He also loves using his crate as a comfy spot to relax on his own. Atticus is leash-trained and will happily stay by your side outside. He has typical puppy antics, like trying to chew on shoes or sneaking a snack from the trash if left unattended, but he’s learning quickly! He loves kids, either playing with them or just watching them have fun. While loud noises and large animals might make him hesitate for a moment, he’s quick to gain confidence. Despite his playful energy, he’s a quiet pup—his foster hasn’t even heard him bark yet! With his loving, easygoing temperament, Atticus would make a wonderful companion for an active family or someone looking for a snuggly best friend. If you’re ready to give this sweet, affectionate pup a forever home, apply to adopt at bcaaofnj.org.
