Burlington County Animal Alliance

Burlington County Animal Alliance is a private, independent, 501(3)(c) nonprofit animal advocacy group, that was founded in 1999 by Lorraine Schrieber and Barb Giano who have a love for animals. To date, we have around 60 members of BCAA. We focus primarily on rescue and adoption of shelter dogs and cats in high kill shelters and surrounding areas in New Jersey. Our main focus is to make the public aware of the numbers of homeless dogs and cats there are in shelters and to promote adoption of these animals. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.

Meet Carvel

Every time I look at this dog, I think.. she is the happiest little rascal!! She lights up a room for sure! Her name is Carvel (which she knows), but my boys have nicknamed her Ice Cream! Haha. She is a great dog… she is fuzzy and soft.. She does super on the leash.. she loves food! My dogs are kinda “take it or leave it” with food, and she’s a “if you don’t want, it I’ll take it” type! lol. She crates well. She is a joy!!! She is just so, so happy that it makes you happy being with her!Carvel is a beautiful girl who is two years old and approx 40 lbs.   She was in a shelter and is now in a foster home and doing wonderful.  She is such a good girl.  Our best guess is she is a corgi/ collie mix.   She has a beautiful red coat.   She is in a home with other dogs and is good with them.  She is not super playful with other dogs, so they all kind of do their own thing with no issues.   She is medium energy, but due to her breed, we feel she would do best with someone who loves to go for walks, runs, or hikes.  She also needs a fenced in yard to get some of her energy out.    She has not been exposed to kitties. Carvel loves meeting new people and is very outgoing when she does.   She knows sit, and is working on a few more commands.   She is good in the car and on leash.  She sleeps in the crate too.  Her favorite things are giving and getting kisses, getting loved on and chasing a ball.   If you want to meet her, fill out an application.
