Meet Happy

Happy truly lives up to his name! He is a good boy and a happy happy one at that. Happy came to the shelter back in August with an injured leg. It was suspected he had been hit by a car. He was fortunate enough to find a medical foster who helped him through a surgery and the weeks of recovery after that. Happy’s time at that foster came to a close and he was back at the shelter without all the comforts of home he had gotten to know so well. We spent a little time with this big headed, squishy lug and well, we are pretty enamored with him.

When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, we like to have a phone chat to get a feel for the kind of dog that you’re looking for. Next, we have you fill out a foster application. After that, we come to your house with a carload of dogs for you to choose from and have you foster the dog of your choosing for a week to make sure that it’s a good fit. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun! Our adoption fee is $300.
