Meet Happy
Let’s talk about Happy. Happy came into the shelter severely underweight and with a leg injury. The shelter was able to find him a medical foster, and he was fortunate enough to have the leg surgery he needed and heal in a home. With no adoption prospects months into recover, Happy’s time with his medical foster was over and he made his way back to the shelter. It wasn’t long after that we made our way to the shelter to meet dogs and ran into Happy. The rest is Swampie history. Happy is 100% GOOD BOY. He is house trained, crate trained, dog friendly, kid friendly, easy going, and as his name suggests, always happy. Happy loves a good couch and he will spend lots of time playing with his toys bouncing from one end of the couch to the other, or trying to melt his 60 pound body right into yours to get as close as he can to you for cuddles. Happy still needs to build some muscle mass in his back leg, and he has a bit of a hop to his walk some steps, but he is otherwise good to run and play and do anything he wants to. He is a healthy boy and two years old. Adopt HAPPY-ness (hilarious right?! I was very excited for that pun)

Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, we like to have a phone chat to get a feel for the kind of dog that you’re looking for. Next, we have you fill out a foster application. After that, we come to your house with a carload of dogs for you to choose from and have you foster the dog of your choosing for a week to make sure that it’s a good fit. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun!
Our adoption fee is $300.
