Meet Tucker
YOU MUST READ ALL OF THIS before even reaching out for a PUPPY application. The puppy application is NOT on our website!! Tucker is one of 4 puppies that were surrendered with the Mama (7 pounds) & Daddy (under 10 pounds). Best guess of the breed would be terrier/chihuahua mix. Tucker was originally called "Talker" as he had a lot to say. He is a little fiesty tyke & the smallest of the litter (but not the runt as she didn't make it.) I have purchase *Puppy Culture* to make sure that I have socialized & done by best to acclimated them to different sights, smells, textures to walk on as well as people & other dogs. In rescue, we are experiencing a lot of small dogs with behavioral issues as folks are not walking their dogs, focusing on the dogs vs the phone/computer, offering mental enrichment nor introducing them to different people & other dogs causing a lot of fears, anxiety & even aggression. These puppies are still with Mama at 8 weeks old & will be for another couple of weeks is this is the time that she is training them on how to play, behave & act. **Notes: your current pets HAVE to be current on vaccines, spayed/neutered & understand that they will be unaltered (too young) but a liability waiver will be signed stating you will bring them back to our vet here in Jacksonville (Julington Creek Animal Hospital) for the rabies at 4 months & to be altered between 4-6 months or else the puppy comes back to Papillon Pals. Adoption: $400 - $50 will be refunded back after an approved puppy course (6-8 week long) has been completed. There are only 4 puppies - applications will be reviewed & we will choose based on what we feel is the best home & not based on first app received. When you send an inquiry, you MUST tell me that you read ALL of the bio as well as the name of our vet (yes...kind of like a password to get into a speak easy).
Adoption Process
Accept application, review application, check vet and 2 personal references, conduct home visit, Adoption Committee reviews all information and makes adoption decision. If yes, adopter completes contract indicating dog will be a pet and kept inside and if they cannot keep the dog they will return to our rescue. They pay an adoption donation based on the breed, purebred or mix, age, and health of the dog.
