A Forever Home Animal Rescue

Our organization was established in 2012. We take in dogs from other organizations (to include those at high kill shelters), strays, and owner surrenders. We obtain all necessary veterinary care for the dogs, to include treating sick dogs, spay/neuter, vaccines, and flea prevention, heartworm treatment, and deworming. We also work on socialization skills with those dogs that need a little extra assistance. We also work with trainers if dogs show behavioral issues. We want all dogs to have the opportunity to have a second to finding a forever home.

Meet Rocko

Rocko is a 3-year-old Chihuahua weighing approximately 10 pounds. His owner was moving and unable to bring him. She said he was fearful and unsocialized. He would frequently hide from them. He has improved greatly with us, but he still is not totally trusting. He will need someone who will take it slow with him and be patient. He may snap and try to nip until he gets to know you and trust you. We think he will be best for someone with a fenced yard. He likes to walk on a leash but it's best to get to know him in a fenced yard then leashing him will be more comfortable for everyone. He has bonded with our rescue manager. It just takes him a little time. If you are tender-hearted and can go slow, please come meet this boy a few times. He will be worth the wait. He tends to attach to one person and they can do no wrong in his eyes. He is affectionate but when he has enough, he will let you know. He has to be the only pet. His adoption donation is $150 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. He will blossom into a lovable, friendly boy so please give him a chance We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application. Here is the link: https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/adoption-information.html

Adoption Process
An adoption application must be completed and approved by the rescues adoption coordinator (vet checks and references are required), a meet & greet with family members and other pets in some cases, adoption fee, and contract required. In some cases a home visit is required.
