Meet Dixie
Say Hello to Dixie!Miss Dixie Doodle was on the LIST at the Hillsborough County Animal Shelter. We had to help her. She was absolutely terrified in the shelter.Dixie is a petite 40 pounds and needs to gain some weight - almost 3 years old. Dixie is housetrained, crate trained and loves to play with her ball! She knows sit and is generally a quiet and calm little girl. Dixie Doodle Bug, quite simply, is the perfect dog. She has never met a stranger, either canine or human, when she is extremely happy her tail rotates like a propeller, and she smiles when she takes treats. She sleeps on her bed the entire night – seemingly without moving a muscle. She will not try to get you up in the morning, but will wait until you are ready. Quite often she will actually put herself to bed if she’s tired. She learns new things in no more than two or three times. What’s not to love?Does she have any faults? Only if you count being too happy and wanting to play!If you are looking for a dog that is mostly Boxer, but do not want one that is too big (46 pounds), or too active, this is your girl. We recommend a home with a younger male dog as a companion. Dixie Doodle would do best in a home with older, respectful children and would get along with calm dogs after a proper introduction. She is cat curious, but her foster Mom has a kitty, so we are hopng she will be fine with a feline friend!
