Meet Mello Yellow

Meet sweet girl Mello Yello!   Mello Yello seems like she did not have a great start in life. She was ultimately abandoned by being tied to a car in front of a facility that does not accept dogs. It’s no surprise she has separation anxiety.   A very very loving person took her in and contacted DARE. She is less than 5 years old, but fully grown.   Mello Yello, a mixed-breed, is spayed and up-to-date on shots and weighs 29 pounds. Her perfect home would be one in which an adult is present most of the time and another dog, which sometimes can help with separation anxiety.   We are working on housebreaking, but she catches on very quickly and is extremely smart.   She seeks attention and affection and is unbelievably sweet and loving. She is good with other dogs and with children and with cats if they don’t run. So getting along with cats can be iffy depending on your cat(s). She has a lot of energy and loves to play.   Mello Yello wants to chase squirrels, lizards, and geese. A fenced yard would be wonderful. She is heartworm positive and we believe slow kill is the best way to deal with it. Whoever adopts her must agree to continue her treatment and DARE will provide all medication until she tests negative.
