BarkVille Dog Rescue, formerly known as BarkTown Dog Rescue & Sanctuary, is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization committed to saving dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages. We are a non-breed specific rescue, and we do not exclude dogs due to extensive medical needs. Our goal is to save dogs in the most need of rescue assistance, including older dogs, medically challenged dogs, and PitBull Terrier type dogs. We work with our friends and donors to raise the funds necessary to provide life-saving treatments for the dogs we rescue and to identify the best foster situations for the dogs in our care.Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment needed prior to adoption. Our dogs are then placed in a nurturing foster home while they await placement into their permanent home. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of our dogs beyond the adoption process.Â Our goal is to help dogs in distress without regard to age, breed, size, or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority.Our cost to provide basic veterinary care to a dog is about $300 and covers all necessary vaccines, spay/neuter and microchip. If the dog tests positive for Heartworm disease (as many of our GA stray dogs do), the additional cost to treat heartworms is approximately $500-$600. For dogs with injuries requiring specialized treatment and/or surgery, costs can easily increase into the thousands.Â When BarkVille becomes aware of a dog in need, we immediately get to work posting the dog on our social media platforms and networking with our internet friends & partners to make people aware of the dogâs situation. We raise funds and solicit for fosters, and once we have both, we transport the dog to one our partner vets as quickly as possible.We strive to work with area shelters and other rescue groups to develop a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better world for homeless dogs.

Meet Rosey Posey

Rosey Posey is a sweet and petite girl looking for her forever home! She is believed to be a Chiweenie/Terrier mix and was born around September of 2024. Rosey currently weighs just 9lbs, and she could remain small or grow more before she is fully mature. Rosey came to BarkVille Dog Rescue after she was surrendered with her siblings (also available). She had been living outside on a porch in the cold winter conditions. Despite her rough start to life, she is full of puppy love and has a happy and silly personality! She enjoys playing with her foster dog siblings, snuggling up with her people, and running in her fenced yard - she's fast! Rosey's foster family is starting to teach her basic commands, is working on her crate training, and she's learning how to walk with a leash. She will need a family who is ready to tackle the puppy basics - including potty training. She is very food motivated, and eager to please! This cute girl will make a great companion dog and would do well with another dog in the house to play with. She does need outdoor fenced space where she can do zoomies! Rosey is currently available for a foster to adopt situation until she receives her final round of vaccines and is spayed, all of which will be covered by BarkVille Dog Rescue. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2 hours of the Roswell area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.

Adoption Process
All of our dog posted for adoption are fully vetted which includes: Age appropriate vaccines (DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella), spay/neutered/microchipped. All adopters must complete an application, reference checks, and home check. Adoption fee is $300.00. Senior dogs are $250.00.
