Meet Angelica

A SWEET, ADORABLE & SILLY GIRL:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 30 lbs.  Hi, my name’s Angelica!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m so glad they rescued me! I’m in a great foster home, while I get ready to meet my new family.  I came in with a lot of skin issues which have taken quite some time to figure out, so be sure to read my medical section to make sure we’ll be a good fit. I look forward to finding a wonderful family that will take great care of me as well as have lots of fun with me!    • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I enjoy playing with the other dog in my foster home and I’m learning from them when it’s time to take a break. So, if you have a hearty dog at home that would enjoy a playful buddy, let’s meet (no small or fragile dogs as I would be too much for them!). / I should not live with cats as I am way too much for them. / I’ve not met kids yet in my foster home, though there is a sweet special adult that is of small stature in my foster home, and I don’t always behave the best around them, sometimes lunging, etc., so older, mature kids will be best and of course, let’s meet.   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’ve already charmed my foster family, and they say I am ‘a delightful addition’ to their home and I bet you will agree!  I am friendly and silly and will sometimes chew things that draw my interest such as the remote, a shoe or slipper, etc., so keep those things put away.  I am a Bulldog mix, and we’re known for being a little pushy, and stubborn at times, so just know that trait about me.  In general, I’m pretty easy-going, devoted, and cuddly on the couch with my people.  I have short bursts of excitement then lose interest, and when I was at the shelter, they said I was either running or standing still - lol. When picked up I’ll give a little groan/sigh of enjoyment.  I don’t like a lot of alone time, so a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member is what I’d like. Affectionate and playful with people, I am sure to bring lots of joy to a lucky family! / My energy level in my foster home is: 4-5.    • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘off’, and ‘no’ commands with visual cues – my foster can show you.  I’ve recently learned to carefully make my way down a flight of stairs but will readily bolt up them – lol. I’m also learning some doggie manners and positive behaviors by watching my foster dog sister.  I love treats, so I bet you can teach me even more. Just know that my treats must be the prescription ones that have helped my skin heal (see medical). / My crate manners are good in my foster home, and I will go into it on command and on my own. / I’m still having accidents in my foster home, so I will need you to help me master my potty skills by keeping me on a consistent schedule (every 2 hours during the day) and keeping an eye on me (I have #1 accidents when out of sight of my foster).  Another reason a stay-/work-from-home family member is best.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love attention from and being with people and - you don’t have to call me twice at mealtimes, as I love to eat!  I also enjoy exploring the backyard and running around with the other dog in the yard. Spending time playing tug-o-war with toys and chewing on Benebones is fun, too. Lately, I’ve discovered the art of chasing large tennis balls and will frequently store one in my mouth when I’m inside, sort of like a pacifier – so cute. / I don’t really like walking on a leash, and I’m very afraid of cars passing by, so playing in the yard is a fun way to spend my outdoor time with you!  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. As mentioned in my opening statement, I have had skin challenges (this is typical of my Bulldog breed) that have taken a while to figure out.  I’m now doing really well eating a prescription food called Hydrolyzed protein.  I MUST stay on this food and not get any other food or treats!  Thankfully, they make treats in this formula, too!  I am also on an allergy medication called Apoquel that has helped, which I should stay on. (We’ll talk in detail about my skin, etc.) I am looking for a great home where I will be a much-loved member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
