Meet Lulu
A REALLY SPECIAL BLIND PUP: Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 12 lbs. Hi, my name is Lulu! I came to Mostly Mutts in need of a good home, and I just KNOW the right family is out there for me. I’ve been a super houseguest in my foster home, and I look forward to having a loving home of my very own. I don’t have eyes, but my resilience and adaptability have been remarkable in my foster home. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: There are several dogs in my foster home, and I get along with them. I simply let them sniff me and then we just chill together. I don’t play with them, but my foster thinks I would in time, so if you have a dog that would be nice to me, let’s meet. / I ignore the dog-friendly kitties in my foster home, and don’t really seem to notice that they are right in the middle of the doggie pack, so I think I’d do well with a nice kitty in my new home. / There are silly 6-year-olds in my foster home, and their activity doesn’t bother me at all – they are kind to me, and I like them. I’m also friendly with the teenagers in the home and their friends, too. So if you have kids old enough to know how to treat a blind dog and that will help keep me safe, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or kids that may leave a door or gate open since I can’t see. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My foster describes me as a super sweet little lap dog. ‘A total sweetheart’, I’ve been a quiet and calm girl who – though blind – has easily adjusted to the physical environment in my foster home. I’ll even jump up on the sofa – with no eyes! The Mostly Mutts photography team said I was ‘precious and amazing’ during my photo shoot – confidently checking everything out without any timidness due to my blindness. I’m a well-adjusted and chill gal looking for my furever lap. I do need a family that will dog-proof their home to keep me safe from falling down the stairs, etc. / My energy level is about 2-3 currently. My foster thinks I’d like to play, but it’s a little hard since I don’t see. Perhaps in time once I am settled in my new home, I will be a little more playful. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don’t know any specific commands, but if you are looking for an expert lap cuddler – I’m your girl! / I’m not crated in my foster home, as my foster says it is not necessary. I sleep on the main level of the home / downstairs on the sofa (to mitigate the danger of stairs) at nighttime. / My potty habits have been great in my foster home on a good take-out schedule. I head straight to the grass to do my business each time I go outside. Hopefully my potty habits will be just as great in my new home, too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: Let’s face it – I am a lap dog, so my favorite place is on your lap where I will be happiest. I have a wonderful laid-back demeanor and just love hanging out with my people. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and good care. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have a bit of arthritis in my hips so I’m on an over-the-counter COSEQUIN tablet to help. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I am looking for a loving home where I’ll be loved and well cared for and a family that will keep me safe since I cannot see! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.
Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly.
