Meet Tessa
A FUN-LOVING FRIEND: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 16 lbs. Hi, my name is Tessa! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so happy to be on my way to a great home with a loving family of my own. In the meantime, the volunteers are making sure I have lots of love and good care, so I will be a happy girl when it is time to start life in my new home. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts and I’m most comfortable with small, more mellow dogs that won’t paw my face, so - if you have a mellow dog about my size who may like a doggie friend, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! I wasn’t a fan of the 2 Chihuahua mixes that were in my temporary foster home. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a fun, playful, active girl with a sweet and friendly nature. When I see people, I am happy and a bit jumpy with enthusiasm. I love to follow my person around. I may circle their feet a bit and being so small, this may make me a tripping hazard for some. Also, please keep a good hold of my leash as I sometimes bark and lunge at passing cars. / My energy level is 5 - 7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer. I know the ‘sit’ and ‘down’ commands so far and look forward to learning more. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been pretty good on the shelter schedule with barely any accidents. When I visited a temp. foster home, I had a few accidents. Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to play and be active with the nice volunteers. Toys are great, and I enjoy playing with them at the shelter, so I am sure I will love them in my new home, too! In my temp. foster home, I was carrying a toy everywhere I went with me! The volunteers learned that I like having my coat brushed after my bath, so let’s keep that up! I enjoy going for walks and the volunteers have also learned that I like eating my meals in the evenings, so that may be the case in my new home too. / I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a loving home where I will be a treasured member of the family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.
Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.
