Meet Gerald

LEARNING TO TRUST & LOVE:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 12 lbs. Hi, my name’s Gerald!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am warming up to the great volunteers here and coming out of my shell more each day!  Now, I hear that it’s time for me to find a new family of my very own, and that makes me super happy!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and although I was a tad nervous and didn’t want to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression.  If you have a nice dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids because I’d like a quieter type of home and sudden movements and noises startle me.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as a ‘pint-sized guy with a sweet personality’!  I was initially quite scared and timid when I arrived at Mostly Mutts, but the volunteers knew they could win me over by using soft voices and going slowly with me, and – it worked!  I’m now showing my happy nature and affectionate side and giving ‘kisses o’plenty’!  I’ve grown more playful as my confidence has grown, too.  I’m a lap dog and ready to warm yours every chance I get! / My energy level is currently 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  Check back soon to see my progress. I must be new to leash walking as it is something that’s taking some time to get used to.  Pressure on my neck from any pulling or tugging on the leash really scares me and I’ll drop and roll trying to get a hold of the leash. So, I’ve been fitted for a special harness – ask about that please and know that leash walking will be best in my yard for the time being – not near streets where I will get startled. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Once I know you, I love to share a lap and give kisses.  I’ve enjoyed time in the Mostly Mutts play yard with the volunteers, with my tail wagging full force!  I am sure I’d love a fenced yard where we can play together in my new home, too. I also love those great belly rubs and butt scratches! / Loud noises, sudden movements and passing cars at the shelter startle me.  I’m not a fan of overhead leashing or hands over my head, and I may need a bit of adjustment time in my new home, so please give me that.  I’ll reward you with lots of love. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I had a lite dental cleaning, so my mouth is fresh again.  I am looking for a wonderful family to give me a loving home!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following: Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility.
