Meet Morris
**ADOPTION PENDING ** A former SoCo Rescue staff member came across a litter of four young pups that appeared to have been purposely left on the side of a secluded dirt road. One of the pups lay dead in the road, it's young life cut short at 6 weeks old due to the actions of a cruel and irresponsible human. Three siblings sat huddled together, scared, hungry and probably wondering where their sibling was at. The young lady gathered up the pups and brought them to SoCo Rescue. The pups were suffering from malnutrition, overloaded with various worms and infected with parasites. Within a week, two of the pups were receiving intensive care by the SoCo staff, and despite our best efforts, a second pup from this litter also had a very short life. While his brother was fighting for his life, "Morris" remained unfazed from the onslaught of worms and parasites in his body. Most likely he either had a stronger immune system at that time or he wasn't as badly infected as were his brothers. Other than a couple of episodes of loose stool, Morris never really displayed any signs of being sick. Morris did get a little extra loving and attention by our staff, afterall, he'd lost two siblings and was calming waiting, rooting for Miles to pull thru. He still has that calm personality but also loves to play, especially if running around, toys and people's toes are involved! Morris is going to make someone a wonderful companion. Morris has receive his final in a series of 3 first year puppy vaccines on Jan 20; your vet may recommend additional first year boosters. We've also dewormed and treated them against parasites on proper intervals and started him on his monthly preventatives. He will require all of his basic training.
