Meet Willy

A SWEET LITTLE FRIEND:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 15 lbs. Hi, I’m Willy!  I’m one of the many dogs that was thankfully rescued when animal control stepped in and helped us work our way to Mostly Mutts!  I was saved from terrible conditions where we were not taken care of at all and were allowed to breed freely.  I also came in heartworm positive due to the neglect, but I'll be treated for that soon!  I’m looking forward to living a wonderful life in a loving home – perhaps with you?  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I wanted to play some, though I was still a bit nervous. I stayed calm and didn’t show any aggression though. I came in with a lot of other dogs, some of whom I got along with and some I didn’t.  So, if you have a friendly dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or that may fall on me.      • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Since I came to the shelter from a tough living situation, I was a bit scared and overwhelmed, so the volunteers initially carried me to the outside pen. I am making good progress and now walk better on a leash, so just give me time and practice patience as I settle into my new home.  I have a nice, friendly nature with people and very much consider myself a lap dog.  So much so that I tend to guard my person’s lap from other dogs. Mostly Mutts can help with tips on this trainable behavior.  If you are looking for a loyal and devoted fur friend, I could be your guy! / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  So far, I have mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands -I look forward to learning lots more!  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been pretty good on the shelter schedule, with a few accidents. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  My favorite place to be is in my person’s lap.  Once I know you are my friend, I will want to be with you and soak up all the attention that comes my way. I’m also interested in toys, so let’s have some fun play sessions together. / Other than not wanting to share my person with another dog, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a heartworm preventative, and I've tested heartworm positive.  Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of my treatment for this, which is expected to begin mid-May, so local adoptions only, please. I am looking for a loving furever home where I will be a cherished member of the family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
