Southern Comfort Animal Rescue, Inc. is 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that rescues and rehomes abused, unwanted and abandoned companion animals.Southern Comfort was founded in 2001 in Savannah, Georgia, to provide shelter and find temporary foster or permanent homes for pets left behind when troops in nearby Ft. Stewart's 3rd Infantry Division shipped out to Iraq and Afghanistan.In 2006, the organization moved to Glenwood, Georgia. Southern Comfort fills a critical need in Wheeler County, which has no other rescues or animal control.We specialize in physical, social and emotional rehabilitation of our rescues. All animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive any and all medical treatment before being placed in carefully screened forever homes.Southern Comfort is a "no-kill" rescue and only euthanizes in cases of irremediable suffering or vicious and dangerous animals.We also work to raise public awareness of the plight of homeless animals and promote the benefits of adopting an animal in need through community outreach and education.

Meet Pasco

Pasco is with a loving foster in Southampton, PA.  If interested in adopting, please fillout our application at www.SoCoRescue.com & select Forms (no need to login).  No phone calls please. Pasco & his littermates were another unwanted litter that was found as strays at a dumpster.  Thankfully they were found by a very loving couple that took care of them until help was found.  They had them checked out by their vet & even started their vaccinations & preventatives.   They put out a plea for help & we were happy to help.  Thanks to this couple, the entire litter was socialized and are super friendly & happy. He received his 1st year puppy vaccines and rabies, he has been dewormed and received  preventatives.  He is also neutered and will come with a microchip too.     

Adoption Process
we have an adoption questionnaire as well as a contract. The only fees we charge are those we are charged for the animal (vet fees)
