Meet Clara
SWEETNESS & CUDDLES: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 22 lbs. Hi, my name is Clara! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control. The volunteers took great care of me at the shelter and now I’m in a wonderful foster home having a good time! I’m ready to find my furever family, so if you’re looking for a sweet dog, I could be the one! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I am nice with the dog in my foster home, but don’t seek to interact or play with her. I simply walk away if she tries to play with me, so if you have a nice dog at home already who is not looking for a playmate, let’s meet! / I’m not the least bit interested in the older cat in my foster home, so if you have a kitty that doesn’t mind coexisting with a dog, let’s meet! / I have not officially met kids in my foster home, but they think that I would likely do well with gentle children in my new home. So, if you have kids like this, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Even though I was a bit shy at the shelter, I did show my cuddly side and gave lots of kisses to the nice volunteers who came to spend time with me. I’m a super sweet, somewhat shy girl who has a gentle and affectionate nature. I’m pretty laid back, though I do get cases of the zoomies in my foster’s backyard. I am social and very much a people dog and want to be wherever my fosters are. I equally love the husband and wife in my foster home. I’ve also been a quiet dog. / My energy level is 3-5, though that may increase in my new home once I’ve completely settled in. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a pretty smart gal and know several commands: ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘no’, and ‘come’. I bet you can teach me even more! / I enter my crate to nap and on command when my foster parents take short trips away from the home. However, I sleep in bed at night with my foster parents and their dog; otherwise, I just cry. I hope I can do the same with you! / I’ve had good potty habits on a consistent schedule in my foster home. There have been just a couple of accidents, as my cues to go out can be subtle, so look for those and keep me on a good schedule! • LIKES/DISLIKES: There is nothing I love more than being with my people. My foster parents are home a good bit, and I would love a stay- or work-from-home family member in my new home, too. Fall is a fun time for me, as I loved playing in the leaves while exploring and running zoomies in the back yard, so a fenced yard where we can spend time together would be perfect for me. As mentioned, I am a people dog who loves to follow my foster parents wherever they go and relish cuddling on the couch. When inside, I am a lap dog – 100% of the time. / While comfortable in my foster home, the unfamiliar sounds in the neighborhood startle me on my walks. Perhaps that will change as I grow more comfortable on my leash. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I came in with a little hair loss and skin issues, so I’m getting medicated baths twice a week and these can easily be done in my new home. I am looking for a loving home with a great family for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
Adoption Process
Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets.
