Meet Polar Bear
A SWEET COMPANION: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 15 lbs. Hi, my name’s Polar Bear! I had a home, but – sadly – my mom became too ill to care for me, so Mostly Mutts is helping me make my way to a new family with whom I can share my life. I came in with a large benign mass on my neck that has been removed and I’m healing up well. My wonderful foster family has taken great care of me and now I'm ready to find my new furever home – perhaps with YOU! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I get along with the dogs in my foster home, though – since I’m healing from surgery, we’ve not played much. My foster thinks I would likely do well with a dog around my own size in my new home, so – if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / Thus far, I pay no attention to the cats in my foster home, so I would likely do well living with a dog-friendly kitty. / I took a little while to warm up to the children in my foster home (ages 7 and 10). My foster says – as I’ve grown more comfortable in the home - I have learned to like them. Calm-natured children around this age or older may be nice in my new home, so if you have kids like this, let’s meet and best no young or rambunctious kids. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: It took me a little time to adjust to my foster home, as I had only been in a small apartment with one person, but I have opened up as my confidence has grown with more socialization. It will likely take me a little time to settle into a new home as well, so I’ll want patience and not to be rushed into new situations please. Also, it takes me a little longer to get used to men, so if there are men in my new home, I’ll need them to show me they want and will love me. I’m a bit of a ‘Velcro dog’ - clingy with a sweet personality. I will attach deeply to the person who feeds and spends the most time with me, but I do enjoy the other family members in my foster home, too, as I am people-oriented. It’s just that a lot of things are new to me so your patience will be rewarded. / My energy level is currently 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’ve not mastered any commands just yet, but I am familiar with the ‘sit’ command. I bet you can teach me a lot. / My crate manners have greatly improved in my foster home, thanks to the time my foster has spent with me on this. I sleep there through the night now and rarely have an accident in it. / I’m doing pretty well with my potty manners on a good schedule and with reminders to go out, so keep me on a good schedule and hopefully I’ll fully master my potty skills soon. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I simply adore my people and am used to a stay/work-from-home family member, so I would like this in my new home, too. I enjoy going for walks with them and just hanging out together at home. I also enjoy chew bones. I’m sure we will discover lots of things we will like doing together! / Other than not wanting to live with very young kids, or being rushed, I can’t think of other dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I had a large benign mass on my neck that has been removed and I’m healing up nicely – as a result of removing it, my left ear doesn’t sit like it used to, but I think that just adds to my charm. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I am looking for a great home with a wonderful furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process
Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:
Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!
Adoption Info:
Adoptions are being scheduled for approved applicants, by appointment only.
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets.
