Meet Rat a Tat ta
Ratatatta what? Is he a drumroll or a dog? Actually he's a dog who is so neat that he deserves a drumroll! However, Ratatta's foster mom decided that Rémy was a bit easier to say, so he has been answering to this simpler moniker. Regardless of what you decide to call him, you'll know from the moment you meet him that this 1-year-old rat terrier is a gem of a pup! He is an expert cuddler (conveniently sized at a compact 15 lbs.) who prefers to be with his people or pets in the home whenever possible. Smart, spunky, and eager to please, Rémy is the kind of dog who would likely excel at agility or another dog sport. He is fully crate trained and has already learned a few basic commands. His indoor house manners are almost perfect. He is house-trained, never chews anything he shouldn't, and doesn't bark too much, just a few warning barks if he sees another dog outside. Now, he would probably be rated perfect if he would just pick up the toys he so greatly enjoys removing one by one from his toy box, but you'll forgive him when you see the joyful abandon with which he runs from room to room, each toy held like a prize in his mouth. Rémy gets opportunities to meet other dogs of all sizes off leash in the fenced common area where he lives (not a busy dog park), and he has done well with all of them. However, on his three to four daily leashed walks, he can be somewhat reactive to the dogs he encounters, and he's working on this. Nevertheless, he's always friendly to people. So whether you prefer Ratatatta, Rémy, or a name of your own choosing, you're going to call this little guy an amazing best friend!
