My name is Lois Vassilion and I moved to this impoverished area of SE Ga. 15 years ago. My main profession is a Critical Care Nurse. When my husband and I got here, we discovered there were no animal services in the county and abandoned pets everywhere. We started BARC at that time to provide health services to these pets and a home.

Meet Darth

Darth is a little pointer/bulldog pointer puppy whose mom was abandoned. He has been in foster care with other dogs, cats, chickens and children and learning to use a doggie door. All in all, Darth is quickly becoming the ideal family pet. He is up to date on vaccines and rescue pays for neutering when he is old enough. Adoption Process
The person must fill out an online application and be approved. They sign a contract and are given a copy of the health record. Our adoption fees range from $100-$350 depending on the adoptability of the pet.
