Meet Miles
**Adoption Pending** Currently in Tarrytown, GA but will be available in NJ for out 3/4th Adoption Event at Tractor Supply in Ringoes, NJ. A former SoCo Rescue staff member came across a litter of four young pups that appeared to have been purposely left on the side of a secluded dirt road. One of the pups lay dead in the road, it's young life cut short at 6 weeks old due to the actions of a cruel and irresponsible human. Three siblings sat huddled together, scared, hungry and probably wondering where there sibling was at. The young lady gathered up the pups and brought them to SoCo Rescue. The pups were suffering from malnutrition, overloaded with various worms and infected with parasites. Within a week, two of the pups were receiving intensive care by the SoCo staff, and despite our best efforts, a second pup from this litter also had a very short life. The remaining sick pup remained touch-n-go for over a week past his sibling's passing and we didn't think he'd pull thru. But the little fellow fought hard, not wanting to leave his one remaining brother all alone in a thus far cruel world. He began to get stronger and stronger, eating and drinking and retaining valuable nutrients now that the worms and parasites had been defeated. Instead of life being only a short journey, this pup was determined to add miles and miles to his life's journey, which led to Scott Bennett naming him "Miles" Miles now realizes that not all humans are bad, that some, most, are really good people. And Miles has no problem showing the people that he meets and he still loves their species, regardless of the past. He also plays very well with his brother, Morris and other pups his size. It appears that Miles is going to have a stout body and short legs. His torso appears to be bulldog, his legs Basset and his face that of a bat! He will make you smile every day that he is in your life and will become the best friend that you've ever had. Miles has receive his final in a series of 3 first year puppy vaccines on Jan 20; your vet may recommend additional first year boosters. We've also dewormed and treated them against parasites on proper intervals and started him on his monthly preventatives. He will require all of his basic training.
