New Rattitude, Inc.

New Rattitude is a national, all-volunteer non-profit rescue/adoption agency whose mission is to rescue Rat Terriers (and mixes that are predominantly Rat Terrier) from imminent death at animal shelters, the streets, abusive/neglectful homes, or from owners who can no longer keep a dog, and to rehome the dogs into new and permanent, screened and approved adoptive homes. Each dog rescued is cared for in a safe and nurturing foster care environment where he or she receives appropriate medical care, a high quality diet, training and socialization. To achieve these ends, the organization is involved with transportation, volunteer recruiting and training, mentoring, fund-raising, and establishing and maintaining other programs deemed helpful to achieving the mission of rescuing and re-homing Rat Terriers.

Meet Cedar (ID)

Beautiful brown-eyed Cedar is as pretty as they come. Weighing close to 15 lbs., 8-year-old Cedar enjoys being mellow most of the time, napping in the sun, daily short walks, and most importantly exploring her fenced-in backyard. Cedar comes from a breeding situation, where she had limited positive interactions with humans, so she's shy and very skittish. Taking things very slowly and giving her time to warm up (along with lots of treats), she'll be your new best friend asking for attention and ready for belly rubs.Since Cedar startles easily, she prefers walking in quiet areas where she won't encounter a lot of strangers, loud noises, or dogs. Also, a securely fenced yard is a must and having a dog door is even better. She does just fine left alone loose for a couple hours at a time as long as she has a doggie companion. Cedar currently sleeps well in her crate every night but would probably love sleeping with her person once she feels safe.Cedar has gotten along well with the other five dogs in her foster home, relying on them for comfort and joining in at barking at the wildlife. She doesn't often play with her foster siblings but does readily snuggle up to dogs and humans alike. Cedar would do best living with at least one other considerate, gentle dog. She does prefer women to men so a home with at least one female as her primary caretaker would be her choice. Cedar has a wonderful personality and has been a joy to her foster family. She's also as cute as a button! See more photos of this sweet girl at https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/cedar .
