Pet Adoption League of Gem County

We are a non-profit animal shelter ran by animal loving volunteers. We are a no kill shelter. We spay and neuter all our pets before adopting out. Our goal here is to return lost pets to their owners, find homes for those who have none, and promote compassionate treatment of animals everywhere.

Meet Abby - (Sponsored)

Meet Abby: Your Special Canine Companion Background: Abby is a beautiful and unique blend of three different hound mixes and a Border Collie, making her a truly one-of-a-kind companion. At 5 years old, Abby is in the prime of her life, filled with a playful spirit Abby is a bit shy, but with a patient and loving approach, she will become more comfortable. Transitioning to a new home will require a gentle touch and understanding as she settles into her new environment. Needs: This sweet girl craves patience, love, and regular exercise to bring out her best self. Abby is already housebroken and crate trained. However, it's important to note that Abby is not compatible with cats, and a home with children would be not be ideal for her.  Personality: Abby is a smart, loving, and playful companion. Her previous obedience training highlights her potential to be a well-behaved and loyal addition to a loving family. Breed Traits: Hound Mixes: Hounds are known for their keen sense of smell and hunting instincts. Abby may exhibit some of these traits, such as a strong nose and a love for exploring scents. Border Collie: Border Collies are highly intelligent, energetic, and trainable. Abby’s Border Collie mix means she’s likely quick to learn new commands and enjoys mental stimulation . Ideal Home: Abby would thrive in a quiet home with a fenced-in yard, providing her with a safe space to explore and play. A household with minimal activity and fewer people coming and going would suit her well. If you are seeking a devoted furry friend who will appreciate a calm and stable environment, Abby might be the perfect match. Adoption/Foster: If you're interested in welcoming this pup into your home, please contact PAL to arrange a meet-and-greet for adoption or discuss fostering options. If you would like to fill out the form for adopting or fostering, please complete the adoption form here (for adoption) or the foster application here (for fostering).
