Meet Chex

Hi! My name is Chex and I’m about 6 yrs old and 45 lbs. I’m the goodest boy! I have great manners and I am house trained! I don’t know how I ended up homeless, but I am loving having a home again to live in. I am outgoing and friendly, good with other dogs, and I ignore the cats. I am a happy boy, and my whole body wags with my tail. With treats I sit instantly, and I know “lay down”. Things I love: YOU, attention and affection, treats, kids, squeaker toys, I like to chase the ball but sometimes I come back to you without the ball because I am just so excited to get more affection from you, comfy things to lay on (please let me be on your furniture, I won’t wreck it), playing with other dogs, going for walks (I walk great on the leash!)  Things I don’t like: Being alone. My dream home is having a kid or someone to sleep with at night. I would not be a good apartment or condo dog because I can speak rather loudly and I would really love a fenced in yard to run around in! Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Adoption Process
Interested adopters need to complete a pre adoption application. This can be found on our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com - we schedule meet and greets with approved applications only.
