Meet Edgar

Edgar is a handsome 3-year-old Lab/Border Collie mix who weighs 64 pounds. He has long legs and is very tall at 24.5 inches high (floor to back when standing), and 29 inches from floor to head when sitting.  One barely needs to bend over when petting him! Edgar trots like a show horse with those long legs and white socks.  All indications point to a “good boy” designation for Edgar!  Edgar is a calm dog.  He sits on command and was a perfect gentleman at his vet visit, riding in a car, and for his bath and brushing.  He walks well on a leash and has not been reactive to other dogs. Edgar soaks in attention and follows his foster family all around the house.  He also enjoys spending time with the other dog in the home.  Although he is currently very thin, Edgar seems to have been well cared for in his previous home and just could not find his way back home. Edgar is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken and neutered.  His new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. Edgar's adoption fee is $400.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting Edgar fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

Adoption Process
Read more about our adoption process on our website at: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ Adoption fees depend on the animal. Please see the pet’s biography for information on their adoption fee. Below is an overview of what you can expect during the pet adoption process: Step 1: Submit an online adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Step 2: Our volunteers will review your application and reach out with a status. This step can take up to five business days. Step 3: If your application is approved you will be invited to meet with the cat or dog you are interested in at a mutually agreed upon time and location. Step 4: We’ll walk you through the benefits of adopting through A.R.F., then complete the adoption paperwork and collect the adoption fee. Then your new best friend is yours! Step 5: Complete required follow-ups such as obedience training or spay/neuter (if delayed due to medical reasons).
