Meet Addie (A Courtesy Listing in Brookfield, WI)
ADDIE IS A COURTESY LISTING WHO LIVES WITH HER FOSTER IN BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN. CBBCR OFFERS COURTESY LISTINGS AS A COMMUNITY SERVICE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT THE FOSTER HOME AT: [email protected] is a 10-month old BC/ACD mix who was adopted from a rescue and who is not well suited to her current home. The current home has switched to foster status and Addie is now available for adoption. Interested parties should contact the foster home at the e-mail address above to discuss arrangements to meet Addie. Addie is a young and energetic dog and is reactive to other dogs, strangers (both men and women), and children. It is not advised that Addie be considered by a home that has children in the household, and it is strongly suggested that an owner with experience with reactivity in a herding breed be sought for Addie. Addie's foster home says this about her: Addie is a beautiful 10 month old Border Collie/Blue Heeler mix. We are complimented daily on hergood looks and seemingly good manners (ha! more on that below). She is a fun-loving goofy pup thatloves to play tug and chase or fetch squeaky toys and balls. She loves to be with you and if you leave for even 30 seconds to take the garbage out, you will be treated to the most loving, affectionate greeting upon return. She wants nothing more than to hang out with her owners, often napping at your feet. She is super smart and loves to train. She knows basic commands (varying levels of competency) like Sit, Stay,Down, Heel, Come, Leave It, Wait At The Door, Go To your Place...She is extremely food motivated and also a heavy chewer and will shred plush toys in minutes but is better with stronger dog toys that are made for chewing. She likes to play with other dogs, but we have not been allowing that lately because of her reactivity issues (see below). She has not beenexposed to cats or other pets. She has a lot of energy and requires lots of exercise both physical and mental. , , Challenges: , , Addie has issues with resource guarding, aggression and general reactivity. In summary, Addie is a beautiful, loyal, smart, fun but also challenging dog that requires an experienced dog owner with a lifelong commitment to training and exercise. She requires daily physical and mental stimulation and a fenced yard where she can explore and play safely, and no dogs or kids. If you can provide this, you will be rewarded with a wonderful companion.

Your application and backup information is then presented to the Board/Committee for review. Once your application has been approved, you may then schedule a meeting with the dog(s) in which you are interested. The foster home has the final approval on the adoption of his or her dog.
