McLean County Animal Control is a self-supporting (non tax payer funded) program designed to promote and protect public and animal safety in a variety of ways, including: - Prevention and control of rabies through rabies vaccination registration and bite investigations- Enforcement of county and state animal control and welfare laws- In certain circumstances, the collection of stray animals- Collection of bats within a home- Adoption of eligible animals to responsible homes- Promoting responsible pet ownership through education and community outreach

Adoption Process
- At least 18 years or older - Have photo identification with current address - Be in compliance with local animal ordinances in regards to number of pets within a household - Own permanent property or show proof of permission from landlord to allow for pets. - Currently owned cats and dogs must be vaccinated for rabies and registered within the county they reside in. - Pay applicable adoption fees
