LEXUS Available for Adoption FAST FACTS  Female Beagle, 2-3 Years-Old, 28 PoundsSweet, Loving, Cuddly, Shy, Curious Low EnergyPeople FriendlyDog Friendly Potty Trained Crate Trained Hi all, I’m Lexus, a very sweet and affectionate tan and white beagle. I was found walking along a highway in Nebraska, very skinny and scared. A very nice woman driving a Lexus SUV stopped and picked me up and brought me to a rescue in rural Missouri. I was named after her car! The woman running the rescue kept me in her house because she knew I needed some extra TLC. . Since my arrival at C.A.R.E., I have been making a lot of progress.. The volunteers recognized that I’m initially a bit timid around new people and were patient with me. But we quickly got acquainted, and I discovered how much I enjoy being picked up and carried, and that crawling into a lap, being petted, and giving and getting affection are the greatest things ever. In addition to being a total love bug, I’m also very curious, and my beagle nose is always working, especially on walks (so many great places to sniff). A few other facts about me. I’m both potty trained and crate trained, and I’m not a big barker.  Also, I really enjoy the company of other dogs, so if there’s already a canine in your household, we’ll become best buddies in no time, and I’ll have mentor to help build my confidence. Finally, I haven’t shown any interest in playing with toys, but that could change. I bet that if you’re the one throwing the ball, I’ll be ready and eager to chase it. As you can see, my story is just beginning, but it’s missing a major character—you! Please fill out an adoption application and schedule a meet and greet with me. I have a feeling we’re meant to be together. I have been spayed and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey Love and kisses,Lexus

Adoption Process
Our adoption process has evolved from many years of experience. The goal of our adoption counselors is to make a good match between animal and family. We get to know each cat or dog's unique personality and different needs. If a specific dog, for example, has large amounts of energy and needs lots of space to run, it is unlikely that he would meet the needs of a person who works long hours and would be unable to exercise the dog. It would be a mismatch that would be bad for dog and human alike. Our adoption counselors look forward to working with you to help you find the right pet for your home.
