Meet PENNY

Today must be your lucky day for you have stumbled across our lucky Penny, hip hip hooray! Sweet Penny is a seven year old spayed female Pitbull with all the love in the world to share. She came to Kane County Animal Control as a surrender at no fault of her own and she has been a brave girl navigating this journey. Penny enjoys naps in the sun and long walks with a good audiobook. Penny is known to be good around other dogs, cats, and children. Penny is housebroken and knows the command “sit” which she does oh so politely. Penny dreams of movie nights and falling asleep by the fireplace. If Penny sounds like she matches your groove, come meet this lovely lady during adoption hours.

Adoption Process
All adopters are required to fill out an adoption application prior to meeting an adoptable animal. This application will be reviewed by staff during your visit. KCAC's adoption application, adoption liability and waiver, as well as adoption policy can be viewed at this link: http://www.kanecountypets.com/AnimalWelfare.aspx Fees to adopt an animal: Dogs: $200 Cats: $100 What does my animal come with at time of adoption? All animals adopted from KCAC are neutered, microchipped, given a behavioral exam, a medical examination by our veterinarian, and receive a battery of vaccines, medications, and blood tests. These include the following: Dogs: DHLPP distemper vaccine, Bordatella vaccine, Heartworm screening, Deworming and Fecal exam Cats: FVRCP distemper vaccine, Feline Leukemia test, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus test, Deworming and Fecal exam All animals four months or older will also include a current rabies vaccine, tag, and vaccination certificate. If the animal you adopt is under four months of age, we will schedule an appointment for rabies vaccination once the animal is an appropriate age. All animals come with full disclosure of their medical history at KCAC, including certificate of rabies vaccination. Dogs will also be given a collar and leash of appropriate size; cats will be given a cardboard carrier for transport. For further inquiries, call KCAC at 630-232-3555 and ask to speak with a member of our shelter staff.
