Buddy is an approximately 3 year old neutered male Chihuahua mix who weighs just over 9 pounds.  Buddy is looking for a home with a fenced yard to relax in and explore, as well as, another dog to call his friend.  He will do best in a home that has a human around the majority of the time.  He benefits from having the company of his human and/or another dog to help him feel less anxious.  He does not like to be left all alone.  Most of his day he works along side his foster human, attending meetings and provides his valuable feedback. Buddy is almost potty trained. He loves to go on walks. He is sweet towards other dogs and people. He is shy and trembles if someone new is at home. He takes his own time to get comfortable around new people.  He does good with people and kids who know how to behave around dogs.  Buddy is okay with any size of dog unless they are overly stimulating. He does well with some calm dogs from his foster's community.  Buddy loves to sit near the door on sunny days and say hi to people and dogs walking outside.  He sleeps well throughout the night on his bed and blanket in his play pen in his foster's bedroom.  He does not like to be crated.  Buddy loves to be picked up and he loves to cuddle with his human.  He is a really sweet dog once you get to know him and he gets to know you! Buddy is micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccinations  and neutered .  This dog's new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. The adoption fee for this pet is $400.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting this dog fill out an Online Application today! Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

Adoption Process
Read more about our adoption process on our website at: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ Adoption fees depend on the animal. Please see the pet’s biography for information on their adoption fee. Below is an overview of what you can expect during the pet adoption process: Step 1: Submit an online adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Step 2: Our volunteers will review your application and reach out with a status. This step can take up to five business days. Step 3: If your application is approved you will be invited to meet with the cat or dog you are interested in at a mutually agreed upon time and location. Step 4: We’ll walk you through the benefits of adopting through A.R.F., then complete the adoption paperwork and collect the adoption fee. Then your new best friend is yours! Step 5: Complete required follow-ups such as obedience training or spay/neuter (if delayed due to medical reasons).
