Meet Dawn

Dawn is a 10 month old female Dane/Mastiff who weighs in at 92 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $500.  If you are still interested, please read more below. COMING SOON!!!  You can meet me with an approved application, and take me home after I am spayed on December 17th. Hi, I’m Dawn. Let me tell you a little about me. The first part of my life wasn’t great. My sister and I were kept outside all the time, and we didn’t get enough food and water. Then the police came and took us to a shelter.  The shelter told ARF I only weighed 21 pounds when I was 5 months old. The shelter fed me and kept me safe until my foster family took me to their house. I went to the vet and I weigh 92 pounds now! And I don’t think I’m done ‘cuz I’m only 10 months old. I’m super soft and cuddly. I really enjoy having a yard to run around in and I’m playful. You might want to watch my videos. I haven’t had much time to learn manners, so I will need to take obedience classes. I also am afraid to get in the SUV at my foster’s house, but once I’m in I lie down and ride quietly. I am house-trained and crate trained, and that makes my foster family very happy. I really like other dogs, and I play well with them even though I’m a bit bigger than the labradoodle I live with now. I am still learning not to jump on people. I probably shouldn’t be in a family with small children, because I could hurt them accidentally. If you want to meet me, please fill out an application. I will be spayed on December 17th and can go to my new home after that. I’m really a sweet girl and am excited to meet you. Dawn is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and will be spayed prior to adoption.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

Adoption Process
Read more about our adoption process on our website at: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ Adoption fees depend on the animal. Please see the pet’s biography for information on their adoption fee. Below is an overview of what you can expect during the pet adoption process: Step 1: Submit an online adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Step 2: Our volunteers will review your application and reach out with a status. This step can take up to five business days. Step 3: If your application is approved you will be invited to meet with the cat or dog you are interested in at a mutually agreed upon time and location. Step 4: We’ll walk you through the benefits of adopting through A.R.F., then complete the adoption paperwork and collect the adoption fee. Then your new best friend is yours! Step 5: Complete required follow-ups such as obedience training or spay/neuter (if delayed due to medical reasons).
