MILAN Available for Adoption Have you ever lost everything you knew and loved? I have. My name is Milan, and my story started at CARE when I was just a 6-month-old puppy. I thought I had found my forever home, and for years, I was happy and loved. But life changed, and suddenly, I wasn’t part of that home anymore. I was surrendered to Chicago Animal Control—confused, scared, and heartbroken. Then, something amazing happened. CARE didn’t forget me. They got the call that I was there and rushed to pick me up. The moment they saw me, they knew I was still the same sweet girl—just a little older, a little skinnier, and in need of love again. Now, I’m in an amazing foster home where I’ve been gaining my strength back (I’ve put on 4 pounds and now weigh 53 pounds!). My foster family absolutely adores me and says my tail never stops wagging. I love giving kisses, going for car rides, and taking nice, easy walks. I’m potty trained, have perfect manners in the home, and never jump on furniture—I just need a super comfy bed to curl up on. And here’s the sweetest thing—when I know you’re about to leave, I sit up and gently place my two paws on your thigh, as if to say, "Please stay a little longer." I just want to be near my people, to love and be loved. I don’t want to lose another home—I want to find my true forever. Could you be the one to love me for the rest of my days? I promise I’ll love you right back. I have been spayed and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. Adoption Process
Our adoption process has evolved from many years of experience. The goal of our adoption counselors is to make a good match between animal and family. We get to know each cat or dog's unique personality and different needs. If a specific dog, for example, has large amounts of energy and needs lots of space to run, it is unlikely that he would meet the needs of a person who works long hours and would be unable to exercise the dog. It would be a mismatch that would be bad for dog and human alike. Our adoption counselors look forward to working with you to help you find the right pet for your home.
