several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet River, a gentle soul 1-year old Lab mix with the sweetest heart. She's a petite girl at about 42 pounds. This shy girl has had a tough time adjusting to shelter life, but once she feels safe, her loving personality shines through. She will thrive with a confident canine companion to help her feel secure and build her confidence. River is a quiet at the shelter and keeps her run clean. She enjoys belly rubs, brief yard adventures, and curling up in her bed. She’s still learning that the world isn’t so scary, so she needs a patient home with a secure fenced yard to keep her safe. Because quick movements and loud noises startle her, she will need a calm, adult-only home or one with children 10+ who can respect her need to adjust. If you have a kind heart, a peaceful home, and a furry friend to guide her, River would love to be your loyal companion. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
