Mr. Rogers is hoping to join a neighborhood soon! He is shy with people but confident with other playful dogs. He loves to do zoomies and chase after other dogs. Once he is all worn out he grabs a drink then settles in for a nap! Mr. Rogers came from a place known as a puppy mill and did not get the socialization he needed as a young puppy. His new family will need to continue to work on his confidence and show him lots of love and patience. Mr. Rogers is currently in a foster home with a little girl and another dog. This is helping with his confidence and he would benefit greatly from having either a child or a young confident dog in his new home. These puppy mill dogs tend to have the greatest success when they have a teacher/mentor and another dog they can look up to that will show them how to be a dog and that people are not scary. Mr. Rogers came into rescue with Giardia, a common parasite found in puppy mills. It is easy to treat and he will finish his meds before leaving to his new family. Mr. Roger's adoption fee is $500. He is microchipped, current on age appropriate vaccines and on monthly heart worm prevention. He has not been neutered due to his young age (we spay/neuter at 6 months). A spay/neuter contract is required. Next steps can be found at leiashope.org. PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing. All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application. We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet. Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!
