Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Polo

You have found Polo! A beautiful brindle Boxer/Pit Bull mix who stands tall at 1 year old and 48 lbs. New introductions bring out his timid side, but once he knows he's safe, with some patience and love, he will be your best friend. Polo becomes the sweetest & most loving guy!  He is a happy and playful dog.  He loves toys, a good bone to chew on, and running around in the yard. He knows "sit" and he is highly food motivated, not to mention a very good listener. Polo keeps his run clean at the shelter and was previously in a home, so we believe he is housetrained. He is dog friendly, though he has a pretty energetic play style. Though he had a little hard time adjusting to shelter life, Polo here is coming out of his shell and showing his sweet side. Let him show it to you!  His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
