Meet Jenna
DO NOT CALL THE SHELTER ASKING ABOUT THIS DOG! YOU WILL JUST BE TOLD TO FILL OUT THE ONLINE APPLICATION! APPLICATION CAN BE FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE: iroquoiscountyanimalrescue.vpweb.com Jenna was found as a stray dog and never claimed. She is a young, active, friendly and playful 12 pound sweetheart! We've discovered in her foster home she would quickly run out the door if not watched closely when entering and exiting therefore we are requiring a fenced in yard for Jenna's adoption to keep her safe or an apartment where the door opens up to the hallway would also be ideal! She's also extremely active. She is definitely not what you call a lap dog and really never stops moving, running and playing! She also is quite the little jumper as she bounds around playing so a home with an elderly or disabled person that she could easily cause to trip and fall with her playful antics is definitely not going to be ideal! She does fabulously with other dogs and cats. She's also friendly with children but a home with a young child who may not be wary when holding a door open may cause her to escape and dart out the door therefore a home without young children will be best. Jenna's vetting will be completed on September 29th so she isn't available to go to a new home until the weekend following that but an application can be submitted now by visiting our website iroquoiscountyanimalrescue.vpweb.com and clicking on the link for the dog adoption application.
Adoption Process
All prospective adoptors must fill out an adoption application, possess a drivers license or state ID, and include a vet reference. Renters MUST include a phone number where their landlord can be reached. Same day adoptions are possible in most cases except for on Saturday after noon when vet offices are closed. In this case, your new pet will not be able to go home with you until Monday when vets office is open again and we can verify your vet reference.
As of July 2009, it became the law in the state of Illinois that all animals adopted from a rescue or shelter must be microchipped within 30 days of their adoption. This is part of the contract you will be required to sign and your responsibility to carry out and send proof to ICARe that this has been done.
All animals available for adoption are already de-wormed, spayed/neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, and twice vaccinated for Distemper. Our adoption fees are as follows: Adult cats $50; Kittens $65; Purebreed cats $75; Purebreed kittens $100; Adult dogs $75-$100, based on age and breed; Puppies, purebreeds, and designer mixes $100-$125, based on age.
