Introducing Shaka!!!Shaka is a lovable and intelligent Border Collie who adores people! Shaka thrives on human interaction and enjoys being petted, making her a delightful companion for anyone looking for a furry friend.   Though she’s made strides in overcoming some challenges,  Shaka will need a dedicated pet parent to help her continue her journey. She has made progress with resource guarding. She prefers to be the only female dog in the home and gets along well with respectful male companions.   Shaka has some separation anxiety, but she’s responding well to anti-anxiety medication. Loud noises can be a source of fear for her, so a calm and quiet environment is ideal. She’s an athletic girl who loves to run and play, so a home with a secure 6-foot privacy fence (no e-fences, please!) is necessary for her safety and happiness.   Shaka is a fan favorite at the vet's office, where her affectionate nature is always met with smiles. She’s looking for an experienced handler to guide her while showering her with love and praise.   If you're ready to open your heart and home to this sweet girl, Shaka is eager to find her forever family. Adoption Process
Adoption process includes completing an application, having personal references checked, vet checks and home visit by one of our volunteers. Your application and backup information is then presented to the Board/Committee for review. Once your application has been approved, you may then schedule a meeting with the dog(s) in which you are interested. The foster home has the final approval on the adoption of his or her dog.
