It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

Meet Sugar

Sugar is working hard to earn her name! She IS the sweetest girl! Sugar unfortunately needed her front leg amputated after a bad break. She has not let it slow her down or dampen her spirits. She still hops on the couch for snuggles or a snooze. She relearned how to go up and down stairs. She loves to wrestle with other dogs and is happy to count cats as her friends too. Sugar loves every person she meets and is very attentive to her family. She follows you from room to room and likes to sleep in bed with you. She's good for car rides and is house-trained! She's believed to be about a year old Australian shepherd mix. Her weight is about 24 lbs and an adopter will want to keep her at a healthy weight so she has less strain on her remaining front leg. To adopt this resilient sweetheart, apply at ITVrescue.org. Her adoption fee is sponsored in remembrance of Enzo.All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.
