Meet Frankie

Fabulous, friendly, free-spirited, and downright adorable Frankie girl is searching for a fun-loving forever family. This sweet lady was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. She is estimated to be between 2-3 years of age and weighs 45 pounds, a fantastic medium size!  Her appearance suggests she has Shepherd, Terrier, and possibly Boxer somewhere in her family tree, but her breed mix is uncertain without a DNA test. Frankie is most likely a mix of several breeds, a true super mutt! Frankie is an absolute hoot and is the life of the party wherever she goes. She exhibits the boisterous, enthusiastic, clownish personality that terriers are known for, and she would love to find guardians who are just as adventurous, energetic, silly, and goofy as she is. Frankie has yet to meet a stranger and greets every human and canine she meets as a long-lost friend. She's a happy, social dog who always has a smile on his face. Her zest for life is contagious, and it's hard to be in a bad mood in the presence of this goof. She did not have much formal training before arriving at Pal's Place. She can still be a bit rambunctious and jumpy when excited, so homes with older children who will not be knocked over or overwhelmed by her exuberant greetings will be the best match for her. Frankie's ideal home will be with guardians who can help her work on her manners and some basic obedience, as well as guardians who can provide her with lots of exercise and playtime throughout the day. Like most teenage working and herding breeds, Frankie will thrive in a home that can provide her with a predictable routine, structure, consistency, boundaries, and plentiful mental and physical stimulation. Frankie is a quick study and is making significant progress in her foster home. She's extremely intelligent, attentive, motivated, and eager to please, and teaching her new things is a lot of fun.  Guardians with a sense of humor are a must because this girl loves to make her humans laugh!! She is being fostered in a home with several other dogs and gets along well with her housemates. She is crate-trained and housebroken when kept on a regular schedule. Frankie is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date with vaccines, and started on flea and heartworm prevention. Frankie is currently in a foster home in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been submitted and approved. For more information or an application, please email [email protected] or visit palsplacerescue.org. Please check your spam/junk folder regularly if waiting for a response; our correspondence sometimes ends in these folders. • Frankie's adoption fee is $375. This donation helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other animals like Frankie from euthanasia. • Please email [email protected] for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email [email protected]. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. We cannot place holds on our dogs; please do not contact us until you are prepared to adopt.

Adoption Process
The majority of our dogs are rescued from Hazard County, Kentucky. After rescue, the dogs are placed into foster homes in Chicago. Once in fosters, our dogs are fully vetted. This includes age-appropriate vaccines, microchips, parasite control and testing, heartworm testing and treatment if ncessary and any other care needed prior to adoption. All dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered before placement. Our adoption fees for senior dogs (8+) start at $175, our fee for adult dogs is $375 and our fee for puppies 6 months or younger is $475. An application is required to be considered for adoption and an adoption contract is signed at the time of adoption including a clause that any dog must be returned to Pal's Place for placement at any point if the adopter is unable to care for the dog.
