Kentuckiana Pug Rescue

Kentuckiana Pug Rescue (KPR) is a volunteer-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue organization (permit #P15-001003) committed to helping all needy Pugs in the states of Indiana and Kentucky.  We work to find both abandoned, as well as surrendered Pugs, loving, forever homes in which they can live out the rest of their lives. KPR does not have a central facility where Pugs can be visited.  Each rescued Pug lives with a foster family until they can be placed in an adoptive home.

Meet Harry

**Meet Harry – A Sweet, Playful Pug Looking for His Forever Home!**   Harry is an adorable, nearly 3-year-old purebred pug who’s ready to find a loving home to call his own. Born on January 10th, 2022, Harry is neutered, weighs about 20 lbs, and is full of charm and personality. Harry was surrendered due to no fault of his own, and now he’s on the lookout for a family who can offer him the love and attention he deserves.   Harry is a friendly and well-rounded pup who gets along great with dogs of all sizes, ages, and genders. He enjoys playtime, especially with squeaky toys and chew bones—perfect for anyone looking for a playful companion! Harry is also known to be good with children of all ages, making him an excellent family pet.  Harry is an active boy who would love a walking companion! Harry also enjoys taking himself on walks and can slip through the fence and go on a run around the neighborhood! Harry would benefit from being leashed when outside or having a yard with a fence that has no spots for a chubby pug to slip out!   While Harry is mostly housetrained, he’s still working on improving a few things. He sometimes marks, but he’s making great strides and is easily managed with a belly band when unsupervised. Harry is crated trained, though he may whine a bit initially. He can also be a little anxious in new situations, but nothing too concerning. He’s a creature of habit and enjoys having a consistent routine. In fact, he prefers to sleep in his kennel overnight, where he feels safe and secure.   Harry is an easy-going and loving companion who just needs the right home to help him feel fully settled. While his behavior with cats is unknown, his easygoing nature with dogs and kids makes him a great fit for a variety of households. He may even enjoy having a feline companion - who knows! Harry does benefit from a schedule and predictability. It takes him a while to feel fully settled and comfortable and seems to have some anxiety that results in panting and restlessness, but now that he has been with his fosters for almost a month, he is fully settled in and his anxious symptoms are gone!   If you're looking for a sweet, playful pug with a lot of love to give, Harry might just be the perfect match!
