PLEASE READ HIS DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE INQUIRING OR FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION.PLEASE READ HIS DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE INQUIRING OR FILLING OUT AN APPLICATION.Leo needs a physically active person in his life such as a jogger, runner or avid walker ..... and someone who works out of their home. Leo, is 80 lbs and 1 ½ years old. He is a Standard poodle, English Setter mix. He was purchased from a Breeder when he was a puppy. He is still with his owner, although he needs to find a new home. Leo is a wonderful boy …however; he has separation anxiety when his owner goes to work.  Leo would do well in a home with a large breed younger dog over 60lbs that also has a lot of energy and plays hard. NO SMALL DOGS.  Leo also has a very destructive side, although we believe that most of his issues stem from being home alone and crated almost every day due to his owner's work schedule. Leo hates crates, and will become destructive and highly anxious when forced to go in one. His owners are surrendering him because they have come to realize that they cannot meet his needs of companionship, activity level, and mental stimulation. He would also benefit from Obedience Training and/or Doggy Day care.He is housebroken and rings the bell when he wants to go outside. After he comes in, he will return and ring the bell again… this could continue all day. He loves to go outside. He is a very smart boy. Leo also sleeps in his owner’s bed at night and he can be a couch potato too. This is a heartbreaking decision for his family, however they want the best home for Leo, and they know it is not theirs. Potential adopter must be located in Lake or Porter County Indiana, as owner will need to bring Leo to your home for an initial introduction and/or meet and greet with you and/or your dog. Leo needs a sturdy 6' high fenced in yard where he can run and get out energy. Leo can jump over a 4' fence. Leo also needs a home with no children or children that are 13 or older because of his high energy and size. Leo plays very hard so NO SMALL DOGS in the household due to his size and rough play. He is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and microchipped.  His adoption fee is $100.
