Meet Asia

This sweet girl is Asia!  Asia came to us after an unfortunate incident causing her to lose her left front leg. While it may have been a rough few weeks for our new tripod, you wouldn’t know it by looking at her!  Asia has the sweetest personality and loves to snuggle on the couch with her foster mom. She’s great with her foster siblings too, even though she sometimes has to tell them to give her some space.  She has healed beautifully and is quickly learning how to navigate the house and outside without hesitation. She’s also potty trained and crate trained. She goes straight to her crate for feeding and doesn’t mind to spend the night in there. She is able to be left out all day while her foster mom is at work or overnight when the house is sleeping. Did we mention she’s beautiful!?  This mix breed darling is has strawberry spots on her back and ears, looking like a baby deer!  She has a hound face with unique eyes and short little legs. She’s full grown at 25-30 lbs. Take this unstoppable girl home for some cuddles!

Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
