It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

Gus is currently at the Spencer County location in Chrisney. Meet Gus! Gus is a 2.5-year-old Labradoodle with a goofy grin and a heart of gold! This playful, sweet-natured guy is great with kids and loves making new friends—especially dogs around his size who can match his energy and play style.While Gus is full of love, he’d do best in a home without cats or smaller dogs. He’s a big, happy boy who sometimes forgets his size and just wants to have fun!With his lovable personality, fluffy curls, and endless tail wags, Gus is ready to bring joy and laughter to his forever home.
