It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

Meet Malissa

Malissa is at the Spencer County location in Chrisney. Meet Malissa! Malissa is a beautiful black and white, pit mix with a heart full of love. She came into the rescue with her sister, Natalia, and while she’s incredibly sweet and cuddly, she’s also a bit timid and unsure in the shelter environment. She just needs a patient, loving home where she can feel safe and come out of her shell.Once Malissa feels comfortable, she loves to snuggle up with her humans and soak in all the affection she can get. She’s looking for a calm, caring  home where she can build her confidence and show just how wonderful she truly is.Could you be the one to give Malissa the security and love she needs?
