PIXIE Available for Adoption QUICK PEEK* Female Small Mixed Breed, 2 Years-Old, 11 Pounds* Sweet, Loving, Outgoing, Gentle, Curious* Medium Energy* People Friendly* Dog Friendly* Potty Trained* Crate Trained If you’re looking for a happy, easy-going, well-behaved little gal who will fit into your life as if she’s always been a part of it, then your search is over. I’m Pixie, an owner-surrendered Texas transplant looking for love in Illinois. My CARE foster mom says I make friends with every human I meet, consider it my job to (silently) greet all visitors who come to our door, and get along with other pooches. While nothing beats schmoozing with my people, other favorite activities include going on long walks (where I like to watch and sometimes scamper after squirrels, bunnies, and birds), car rides, and playing with my stuffed snake. Of course, I’ll never say no to a good snooze on my dog bed or to a food treat (I’ll sitpatiently at your feet to receive my reward). As for the basics, I sleep through the night, am potty trained, and don’t mind being left in my crate when you go out (I may bark at first but then settle). My foster home is terrific, but nothing beats having a forever person/family. If you think we might b the perfect match, please fill out an adoption application and come and meet me ASAP. I have been spayed and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out a foster survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-foster-survey Love and licks,Pixie
Adoption Process
Our adoption process has evolved from many years of experience. The goal of our adoption counselors is to make a good match between animal and family. We get to know each cat or dog's unique personality and different needs. If a specific dog, for example, has large amounts of energy and needs lots of space to run, it is unlikely that he would meet the needs of a person who works long hours and would be unable to exercise the dog. It would be a mismatch that would be bad for dog and human alike. Our adoption counselors look forward to working with you to help you find the right pet for your home.
