Meet Scotch, a charming and cheerful little pup searching for a forever family. He is estimated to be around 3 months old and weighs 13 pounds. Given his current age and weight, we estimate he'll mature into a 40-55 pound adult. Pal's Place rescued Scotch, his littermate, Whiskey, and their mother, Brandy, a lovely Golden Retriever mix, from an animal control facility in rural Kentucky. An overcrowded, chaotic, stressful pound is no place for any dog, especially a mother, and puppies. We heard their story and brought these sweethearts up to a wonderful foster home in Chicago to await meeting their forever families. Scotch's mother is a delightful, mild-mannered, 45-pound Golden mix, but his father's breed is unknown. While we cannot say their exact breed mix, we think the puppies may have some Shepherd, Lab, and possibly even a bot of Shar-pei in their family tree. Scotch and his brother Whiskey are both curious, confident, social, and adorable pups. They will make outstanding companions for active families with the time, energy, and patience to raise a young puppy. They get along well with other dogs and are working on their crate training and housebreaking in their foster home. Remember that puppies this age and size need potty breaks every 3-4 hours, with lots and lots of playtime and mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. Please consider if you truly have time for a puppy before applying. Scotch and his sibling are neutered, current with age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and started on flea and heartworm prevention. They are ready and anxious to meet their new families! The adoption fee to the rescue is $475 For more information or an application, please email [email protected] or visit palsplacerescue.org. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly. Adoption Process
The majority of our dogs are rescued from Hazard County, Kentucky. After rescue, the dogs are placed into foster homes in Chicago. Once in fosters, our dogs are fully vetted. This includes age-appropriate vaccines, microchips, parasite control and testing, heartworm testing and treatment if ncessary and any other care needed prior to adoption. All dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered before placement. Our adoption fees for senior dogs (8+) start at $175, our fee for adult dogs is $375 and our fee for puppies 6 months or younger is $475. An application is required to be considered for adoption and an adoption contract is signed at the time of adoption including a clause that any dog must be returned to Pal's Place for placement at any point if the adopter is unable to care for the dog.
